Privacy Policy
OpenTethr does not collect any data. Effective October 3, 2026.
What we collect
Nothing. OpenTethr has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The developer does not receive, store or share any information about you, your servers, your code or how you use the app.
Where the app sends data
- Your OpenCode servers. The app talks to the servers you add, and only those. Your messages, files, commands and attachments go to the server you are connected to. What that server then sends to an AI provider is decided by how you configured the server, not by this app.
- An AI completion provider, only if you turn it on. Inline code suggestions in the editor are off until you choose a provider. When on, the text around your cursor is sent to the provider you picked (your own OpenCode server, a local Ollama server, or OpenAI, Anthropic or Mistral using an API key you supply) and is handled under that provider's terms.
The app contacts no other service.
What is stored on your device
- Your list of servers and your settings.
- Server passwords and any API keys you enter, in the iOS Keychain, on this device only.
- Titles of recent chats, so the chat list, widgets and Live Activities can show them.
- Unsaved editor drafts, and items you share to the app until they are sent.
Deleting the app removes all of it.
Permissions
- Local Network, to reach a server on your Wi-Fi or VPN.
- Photos and Files, only for the items you pick to attach to a message.
Children
OpenTethr is a developer tool. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
